I have to admit it was hard getting started this week after all my fun birthday celebrations!
This week I’ve spent time reflecting on how Eva Marie Workshops has grown. It started as a dream many years ago that God has blessed and helped me realize. My dream continues to evolve as I move forward, which is exciting and sometimes scary. When fear knocks and doubt moves in, I start questioning myself and that’s when I get stuck. Sometimes fear and doubt can show up as my “comfort zone:” if I’m comfortable and things are good, why change? But that’s also how I can stall myself from progress. I’m not saying all comfort zones are bad, but sometimes we can nest in them too long as a means of avoiding our own growth and opportunity.
Stuck isn’t a good place to be. Being stuck is a choice, and I don’t want to live there. As a self-described “queen of people pleasing,” I lived there for a long time, and I don’t want to go back. Instead, I now give myself permission to experience all my doubts, fears and comfort zones to ultimately move past them.
In my work, it’s important to me that I see women change, grow and move forward. God gave me the vision for Eva Marie Workshops, and I love when women come together to connect, create and celebrate. It’s really so beautiful, and I’m humbled and blessed that God is using me in this mission.
As I start my new season in life as a seventy-three-year-old, I’m looking forward to all that God has for me to learn, do, share, give and celebrate in my work and relationships. I’m excited to see how Eva Marie Workshops will continue to expand, but also how I will expand beyond my own comfort zone. And as always, I’m happy to share these experiences with you, my readers.
How do you navigate your comfort zone? What do you do when you feel stuck, or fear and doubt are holding you back? How do you respond?
Great blog Marie! We all get stuck at some point but breaking out of that is the key and the hardest part for most women! Thank you for sharing your words & wisdom. May God continue to use you to help other women realize their dreams too!! Big hugs —
Yes, I agree breaking out is hard but it can be done. It takes time. We have to give ourselves permission to move forward.
Thank you for reading the blog and commenting.
Hugs.
When I get stuck I call on those strong woman like you Marie to help me clear my head to keep moving forward and go a little deeper in prayer and meditation for God’s direction. But I do know that God has giving me some great woman to help to walk together
I’m honored to be there for you. I love how God brings the right people in our life to pray and encourage.
You are a blessing to me.
Thank you Marie. You have helped me so much through being my life coach and my friend move forward and not stay stuck. I pray and thank God for helping me see when I get in that comfort zone. I know to call someone and talk now or journal. Thank you so much.
You’re welcome Debby. I’m thankful God has brought you into my life. You have grown so much. I know God has great plans for you.
