The Bridge to All Dreams

The Bridge to All Dreams

For the past two weeks, Eva Marie Workshops has been helping women prepare for 2022. We’ve been hosting workshops in which we discuss our accomplishments of 2021 and the dreams, growth and change we want to see in the upcoming year. I’ve learned so much from these gatherings. All of us have hopes and desires, and sometimes we need a little help getting started.

We were surprisingly amazed by what we’d accomplished in 2021! As we went around the room, and each woman shared her reflections, I noticed their posture change; they sat up taller. Many had never taken the time to ask probing questions of themselves or to take personality tests or to ask others,  “what qualities do you see in me?” Sometimes we get so caught up in the habits of our daily routines that we miss the big picture of our lives, the overarching direction we want to take.

After spending the mornings soul searching, we used the afternoons to create 2022 vision boards. It was fun to watch everyone pour over magazines to find just the right words or pictures that reflect their unique desires. Some glued their selections onto foam core or poster board while others created a book of their story. Now they have a map to navigate 2022.

As an adult, I’ve struggled at times to voice my dreams and take steps to reach them. I wasn’t taught that as a child, unlike my grandson whose middle school is already teaching him how to set goals, use his time wisely to achieve them, then celebrate his successes. I thought that my only role was that of a wife and mother and nothing else. The best thing is: we’re never too old to learn! When I started working with different life coaches and taking courses, I realized I could and wanted to do more. I’ve now become an advocate for women to learn more about themselves.

We all have so much to offer. It’s important to know that God has given us gifts, talents and dreams to work toward and manifest in our lives. Sometimes it’s hard to keep the faith on our own, and the community of others can encourage and support our visions. I believe that if each one of us was doing what we were created to do, we would turn our communities upside down and change our world. Start where you are and make a difference. Don’t live someone else’s life, live the one God created for you. Have faith that He’ll guide and guard the path to your dreams.
