Happy New Year

Happy New Year

Can you believe 2022 has arrived? I hope you’re enjoying restarting after the holiday. I hit the ground running. My first week of 2022 has been busy and productive.

Last week I spent time reviewing last year’s accomplishments. Have you taken the time to do that? It was an encouragement to me and inspired me to keep moving forward. In the age of technology, I’m considered old fashioned because I love to write everything in a notebook or my planner. For me, it’s faster to pull out my handwritten notes to see where I am, what I’m doing and where I’m going. How do you like to keep track?

In 2021, COVID restrictions were lifted, and I was able to resume in-person workshops. It was fun to meet up again, and we even ended the year with a party. It was a good year for Eva Marie Workshops.

It was also helpful to review what lessons I’d learned through trial and error this past year. Understanding what ideas worked and others that didn’t has given me wisdom and will guide me to make better choices in the future. This year I will improve upon the successful workshops and fundraisers to make them better. I’m grateful and blessed for the encouragement, suggestions, and help I received last year. None of us accomplishes anything alone, and it’s important that we thank those who supported us. A heart of gratitude, humility and a good attitude are important to our relationships and our business.

Of course, my favorite thing to do is celebrate every accomplishment, big or small, every step along the way toward a goal. Celebrating doesn’t have to be costly, but it should be fun! I’ve decided that CELEBRATE is my word for 2022. I’m looking forward to celebrating more this year. Do you choose a word for the year?

In addition to choosing a word of the year, I also choose a Bible verse and personalize it. This year, I couldn’t decide on one verse, so I chose two!

“But as for Marie, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:7

“May He give Marie the desires of her heart, and make all Marie’s plans succeed.” Psalm 20:4

What did you learn about yourself this past year? How do you want to change or grow in 2022? It takes time to answer those questions. I hope you’ll take the time and find a quiet spot with paper, pencil, phone, laptop or tablet–whatever works for you–and reflect on last year. Celebrate your achievements and get excited for all that you’ll accomplish in 2022. And let’s remember to inspire and encourage each other!

If you choose a word or a Bible verse for the year, please share it in the comments.
