Change

Change

Change is defined as making (someone or something) different; to alter or modify.

How do you feel when you hear the word change? Does it scare you, or excite you, or a little bit of both?

Change can be hard and it can be scary. Last year, change hit every part of our lives all at once. It was thrust upon us. We didn’t have time to decide if we wanted to change. Our routines were disrupted, our lives altered. We had to quickly adjust. Some changes we liked, others not so much.

Change can also be something we intentionally decide to do. That’s usually the side of change that excites us. We might decide to move homes or switch jobs, to get married or have children, to modify our habits or lifestyle. The start of a new year is often the time when we reflect on the larger changes we want to see in our lives. The new year offers us the opportunity to sit in silence and listen to our thoughts and to our hearts to know the adjustments we want to make.

As you think about the changes you might want to see in 2021, consider these questions:

  • What really matters to you?
  • What modifications do you need or want to make in order to achieve your goals this year?
  • At the end of 2021, will you be the woman you want to be?

Take the time to visualize the woman you want to be by the end of the year.

  • What changes will you make to become her?
  • What will those changes look like in your spiritual life, your finances, your career,  your relationships or your physical life?

I like to ask myself questions and journal my thoughts. It gives me clarity.

Two changes that I want to make this year: 1) to be unafraid to step out of my comfort zone and try new things; and 2) to take classes that will stretch and challenge me.

What about you?

Knowing that you don’t have to be rushed or pushed into change, take the time to reflect on it.

And please leave a comment below. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I love reading them!  The more we share, the more we grow.

If you are going to rise to the challenge, you have to be prepared to change.

I been going trough change in my life for the last 2 years, after the loss of my husband.
It’s been difficult and scary to adjust to my new life, and I’m still having a hard time.
I try to take a day at a time and I thank God for his strength. I’m working on accepting things the way they are and take it one day at a time.
Thank you Marie, you friendship has been helpful.

One thing that I keep reminding myself is that when I move into change —chosen or not —it is a period of chaos. That can be unsettling and scary. But It it also provides opportunities for creativity, trying new ideas and learning new things. .

“Learning begins at the end of your comfort zone “ I have this posted in my office to remind me that change can be uncomfortable and exciting

I don’t like change (like Karyn said), if I didn’t initiate it. It is unsettling to me and hard for me to keep up with. This past year was a challenge in so many ways in that way. I want to make so many changes in myself but find it difficult to follow through with. I want a more stringent prayer time with Jesus, I want to get more organized in my home andy body more fit and healthy. Only through the strength of the Lord will I be able to achieve these goals. And I want to find MY PURPOSE! Thank you Marie for your insight.

This really gets my brain working. Change is fine when its me controlling it. If it comes from somewhere or someone the story then changes completely. I’m not so accepting.
I do want to work on setting goals for myself. There may be some things I’d like to change.
I’m going to re-read your blog and use it as a guide our outline. I believe it will help me and give me direction.
    Thank you, Marie.
    Miss our prayer group. ❤

Yes, challenge and change go hand in hand! I have a few things I am focusing on with intention to change by the end of the year. I visualize, read affirmations and declare them to become my reality and take consistent daily actions to achieve them.
