Anniversary Celebration

Anniversary Celebration

This week marks the one year anniversary of Eva Marie Workshops first blog post on August 5, 2020: “Blueberry Chaos: One of Life’s Lessons.” You can read it here.

Without you—my readers—your support and encouraging words, there would be no blog. I also want to thank the women behind the scenes who’ve helped make it all possible: my website designer, Callie Revell (callierevell.com); Marta Goertzen at www.trailguidewebworks.com, who filled in for Callie during her maternity leave; and my daughter, Tiffany Webber, who’s my editor. I’m grateful for all the help and support from other women. Without all of you, I couldn’t do it.

As I look back over the past year and the blogs I’ve written, I’m humbled by the experience and all God has helped me achieve. Writing has stretched me and taken me out of my comfort zone. It’s been a great learning curve. Writing my first blog wasn’t easy for me; I rewrote it ten times! Writing has helped me to see more things around me, pay attention to stories I hear or tell. When I see a sign, hear a word or have a thought, I write it down because it could be a future blog. Writing takes in all my senses—sights, sounds, smells and being more alert to everything around me. It’s made me come alive in a different way, and I’m now more willing to try new things. It’s given me confidence to do something I never thought I’d do. Growth isn’t easy sometimes, but I’ve learned the more you do something, it gets a little easier. You get better at doing it, and it gives you the motivation to try different things. Knowing that everything isn’t going to be perfect and doesn’t have to be also gives me the courage I need to keep moving forward. Growth comes from trying.

Is there something you want to try, but fear is stopping you? I know fear and how it can halt us in our tracks. But it’s amazing what happens when we take the first step; when we believe, “Yes, I can do this!” If we make mistakes, it’s OK; it’s all part of the process.

I hope the blog posts have been a source of comfort, inspiration and encouragement to you. What has been your favorite post or topic? Are there other topics that you’d like to read about?

As a thank you for reading my blog this past year, I’ve created this downloadable sheet with some of my favorite acronyms. You can print this out and hang it up as a poster or cut it up into cards. Enjoy!
